ABUS is a new 3D ultrasound specifically developed and designed for breast imaging. ABUS uses a standardized automatic scan which virtually eliminates human error – the large size probe captures images in precise anatomical detail of complex breast tissues and structures without relying solely on the skills of the operator. ABUS is helpful in patients with dense breast tissue.
This is used in conjunction with mammography to help provide a more complete breast health picture.
